The role you’ll contribute:
2/28/22 The Clinical Dietitian works closely with the interdisciplinary health care team to provide nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy that are integrated and compatible with the patient’s medical program goals and objectives. Primary responsibilities include developing and implementing nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy using established standards of care and practice protocol/guidelines; managing resources in a cost effective manner; participating in performance improvement efforts; and maintaining professional competency and skills required for professional practice.

Evaluates and monitors nutritional status of hospitalized patients ranging from newborn to geriatric populations as well as cultural, religious, and ethnic concerns, using established standards of care
Develops and implements an individualized plan for nutrition intervention in accordance with the patient’s medical program goals and objectives, nutrition prescription, and self-management training.
Obtains timely and appropriate data and analyzes/interprets data based on evidence-based standards
Identifies educational needs and provides current, hospital approved, nutrition education that is sensitive to the patient’s learning need, condition, readiness to learn, literacy, hearing language and age
Assesses educational needs and provides nutrition counseling for individuals and groups.
Attends department meetings and remains up to date with department activities, communications and changes
Assist in budget request and planning as needed
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :
Minimum qualifications :
Registered dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
Florida Department of Health dietitian/nutritionist license
Completion of a didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice program approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics (AND).
Bachelor of Science degree in dietetics, foods and nutrition, or related area required.
One year experience in acute care setting preferred.
Experience using Cerner electronic medical record
Preferred qualifications:
o Acute Care and Rehabilitation experience
o Master of Science in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences, Human Nutrition, or nutrition related field
