CLINICAL DIRECTOR, MPS URGENT CARE
Position Summary Full-Time Day Shift

Under the direction of the Administrator, Specialty Services the system director is responsible for the day-to-day operation of all ExpressCare locations, including line management responsibility for all non-physician personnel, financial analysis and management, and long and short term strategic planning.  Responsible for system integration of ExpressCare services for the health system and service line growth.   Embodies the Memorial Health System Performance Excellence Standards of Safety, Courtesy, Quality, and Efficiency that support our mission, vision and values. 

Highlights & Benefits Paid Time Off (PTO)Memorial ChildcareMental Health Services Growth OpportunitiesContinuing EducationLocal and National DiscountsPet InsuranceMedical, Dental, VisionFlexible Spending Account401(k)Life Insurance and Voluntary BenefitsEmployee Assistance Program and Colleague WellnessAdoption Assistance Required Skills Supervises the day-to-day operations of all ExpressCares, implementing MPS objectives, policies, and procedures.  Selects, trains/orients, and supervises non–physician personnel.  Responsible for work assignment and daily operations.   Evaluates performance and recommends merit increases, promotions and disciplinary action.   Maintains accurate and current human resource records.  Embodies the Memorial Health System Performance Excellence Standards of Safety, Courtesy, Quality, and Efficiency that support our mission, vision and values:  SAFETY:  Prevent Harm – I put safety first in everything I do.  I take action to ensure the safety of others.  COURTESY:  Serve Others – I treat others with dignity and respect.  I project a professional image and positive attitude.  QUALITY:  Improve Outcomes – I continually advance my knowledge, skills and performance.  I work with others to achieve superior results.  EFFICIENCY:  Reduce Waste – I use time and resources wisely.  I prevent defects and delays.  Ensures that clinic staff are kept current with health care trends through the provision of professional development activities.  Initiates and facilitates staff meetings.  Prepares agenda and presides over physician meetings.  Collects data, prepares reports, answers correspondence, and compiles statistics for administrative and regulatory purposes.  Resolves problems in administrative areas and ensures compliance with regulations and standards.   Informs staff of corporate policies and major decisions.  Initially handles complaints from patients such as service or billing issues, and refers problems to appropriate personnel.  Applies the Minimum Necessary Standard when accessing protected health information.  Monitors employees to ensure they do the same.    Works with medical staff to ensure quality patient care and services are provided.   Reviews and analyzes the financial status of the ExpressCare, including vendor relationships, overhead assessments, and general financial reporting, such as balance sheets, and profit and loss statements.   Approves invoices for payment per accounts payable policy.   Reviews need and recommends capital expenditures.   Responsible for working with ExpressCare management, providers and staff to achieve patient satisfaction initiatives.   Provides status reports of ExpressCare operations and financials to management.   In collaboration with MPS Finance, prepares and implements ExpressCare budgets.  Recommends funding based upon thorough knowledge of policies, costs and operating procedures.   Monitors and controls ExpressCare expenditures within budget.   Serves as liaison between ExpressCare and external agencies.   Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of building, grounds, facilities, and equipment in a manner consistent with the highest standards of safety, sanitation, efficiency and appearance.   In collaboration with administration, develops and updates long range strategic plans to support the ExpressCare’s operational and financial goals.   Builds relationship with public relations to best promote MHS.   Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional growth and development to keep current in the latest trends in ExpressCare administration.   Demonstrates support for and participates as requested in accomplishing team goals and objectives.   Maintains strictest confidentiality.   Offers effective communication regarding issues of compliance, including, but not limited to:  1) Governmental regulations and requirements; 2) Risk Management Guidelines; and 3) Coding and Documentation requirements.   Responsible for the daily monitoring of compliance issues in assigned sites.  Investigates and, if warranted, applies appropriate disciplinary action to individual (s) who fail to follow compliance guidelines.  Consults with administration and Medical Director on all issues related to physician non-compliance.  Performs other related work as required or requested.

Required Experience

Education: 

Master’s degree in health, business administration required. 

Licensure/Certification/Registry: 

RN registered in the state of Illinois required. 

Experience: 

Minimum of three years line management experience required. 

Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

Demonstrated outstanding ability to deal with physicians in all situations.  Demonstrated outstanding interpersonal and written communications.  Demonstrated outstanding time management skills, and ability to balance time between multiple clinic sites.  Springfield, IL
