**The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking qualified and enthusiastic individuals to join our Forensic Services within the Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) division of agency.**
The Forensics Services campus in St. Peter is comprised of the Forensic Mental Health Program and the Forensic Nursing Home. Forensics Services provides mental health evaluation and treatment services to individuals diagnosed with a mental illness who present a risk to public safety. This is a safe and secure treatment environment.
As the Clinical Director for a designated treatment area of the Forensic Mental Health Program (FMHP) this person develops, implements, and ensures best treatment practices for all patients, and provides clinical oversight to program staff. This includes, but is not limited to, overseeing, and ensuring high quality treatment and programming is offered, ensuring adequate training is offered to staff working with patients, and overseeing and ensuring that quality assurance measures and documentation are utilized. This position provides clinical oversight to any admissions, discharges, and transfers involving their area of oversight. S/he provides Treatment supervision and direction, thereby assisting to ensure the program provides comprehensive, quality services that address patients’ needs. Active consultation and direction to clinical staff and treatment teams is provided. This position actively participates and provides leadership in program development and implementation, strategic planning, and quality oversight. This position interfaces with Campus Leadership including Executive Leadership and acts as the Program Administrator in the Administrators absence.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Counseling or Mental Health Counseling
+ Licensed in MN as a mental health professional (LP, LICSW, LMFT or LPCC)
+ 4 years’ experience: As a Clinical and/or Administrative Supervisor; OR as a licensed mental health professional; OR a combination of both.
Experience must include:
+ Clinical supervision of employees
+ Healthcare management/leadership experience
+ An ability to identify and cultivate talent, engender mutual respect, promote a culture of high performance and teamwork, and prioritize professional development; resulting in engaged staff and a healthy, collaborative environment
+ Demonstration of strong business acumen, a sophisticated knowledge of healthcare, and experience in making complex and difficult decisions
+ Experience leading in a healthcare regulated facility (such as The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), etc.)
+ Budget management
+ Supervisory experience including conducting performance reviews/providing feedback to staff; training staff/ensuring staff have the proper training to do their job; providing reports/updates to management; identifying and resolving workplace problems.
AND
Demonstrated leadership experience. Leadership experience can include:
+ Administrative or Clinical experience as a supervisor, lead worker, team lead, project lead; or
+ Completion of a State of Minnesota leadership program (e.g., ELI, L4); or
+ A paid/unpaid position leading a program or chairing a committee (e.g., ERG) - experience must include:
+ 1+ year of experience identifying issues, goals, and strategic actions; or
+ 100+ hours per year time commitment.
**Preferred Qualifications**
Experience in any of the following:
+ Developing and administrating budgets
+ Developing strategic plans and policies
+ Promoting positive community relations
5 years of experience as a clinical supervisor or manager
