**Overview**
Provides leadership and management for the operations, clinical performance, and financial performance of the heart and vascular service line at M Health Fairview. The service line encompasses the following areas: Cardiac Cath Labs, Electrophysiology Labs, and Echocardiography/EKG.
This leader contributes to and executes the vision for promoting clinical excellence and program growth in a highly competitive marketplace. Ensures that high quality services are provided within professional regulatory and accrediting body standards, and that overall clinical performance of the service line meets or exceeds national best practice benchmarks. Ensures operations function at top levels of efficiency and exceed customer expectations. Accountable for viable financial performance of the services. Develops and administers policies and procedures, operating and capital budgets.
Supports and participates in system-wide Cardiovascular service line activities and is responsible for assigned system-wide CV activities including (but may not be limited to) development of CV outreach sites and operationalizing the system-wide CV imaging integration plan.
_Position scope:_
$100M + budget; 100+ FTE’s; direct and indirect reports; significant partnership with medical leaders from Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Anesthesia, Hospital Medicine, Periop Services.
**Responsibilities Job Description**
+ Direct operations of cardiovascular services to ensure all staff and physicians have a safe, efficient, and highly effective environment that promotes outstanding clinical care, and leads the nation in clinical outcomes.
+ Improve core processes that promote outstanding customer (patient and referring physician) satisfaction.
+ Creates systems and processes which improve patient and referring physician satisfaction with referral process. Uses influence rather than direct positional power to create improved systems and processes for outreach sites.
+ Works across M Health Fairview system and physician practice to operationalize system-wide initiatives and improvements.
+ Foster an environment that promotes best practice employee engagement levels.
+ Actively collaborate with medical staff to incorporate their vision for clinical services development, employee engagement, clinical operations, and financial management of the service line.
+ Manage department finances to meet or exceed budgeted levels of performance. Actively seek out industry “best standard” benchmarks and apply to M Health Fairview operations. Apply government and non-government reimbursement policy to Heart & Vascular operations to ensure reimbursement for services is appropriate, and to forecast future revenue trends.
+ Prepare annual operations and capital budgets.
+ Serve on appointed committees and represent M Health Fairview and/or the Heart & Vascular Service line in collaborative projects with other institutions. Contribute to the teamwork within and between departments representing heart & vascular services and its interaction with referring physicians, practice administrators and other hospital departments.
+ Apply government and non-government reimbursement policy to operations to ensure reimbursement for services is appropriate, and to forecast future revenue trends.
**Qualifications**
**Required**
+ Masters degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or Nursing.
+ 5 years relevant hospital-based leadership experience.
**Preferred**
+ Bachelors degree in a Clinical Field
+ Lean and/or Six Sigma process improvement skills
+ 3-5 years experience managing Cardiac Cath Lab and/or other cardiovascular clinical operations.
