Responsibilities

The Clinical Educator is a Registered Nurse who has direct accountability for leadership of Nursing Education within the CHI Memorial Health System (CommonSpirit Health). The Clinical Educator is assigned specific teaching responsibilities for onboarding/orientation of new associates (RN, LPN, NT, PCT) within assigned units, regularly scheduled required classes, in addition to assessing, developing and implementing education for the needs of individual units in assigned areas. 


Qualifications

Required Education and Experience 

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) minimum, MSN preferred. 3 years of nursing experience. 

Required Licensure and Certifications

Active RN License, BLS, ACLS (Cardiac, ED, CC), PALS (ED), AHA Instructor Certification as needed, National Board Certification within 1 year  (NPD Preferred)

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training

3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse. Experience developing curriculum incorporating multimodal teaching approaches based on the needs assessment and learner’s knowledge and skill base. Experience trending data and writing/implementing actions plans. Experience in selection of and use of equipment/supplies to be used in the onboarding, orientation and evaluation of staff (RN, LPN, NT, PCT, Surgical Technician, Surgical First Assistant). Experience evaluating clinical competency. Use of general communication and patient care equipment. Use of computers including the Google Platform. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effective conflict resolution techniques. Ability to adapt to changes in healthcare technology. Use of simulation as a teaching technique and ability to operate simulation equipment. Ability to organize varying schedules and use of multiple resources.
