Job Description

The Clinical Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of medical devices and equipment throughout the hospital. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biomedical engineering and will perform a variety of tasks including equipment inspection, testing, calibration, repair, and preventative maintenance. This role is integral to maintaining the functionality of both clinical and non-clinical medical devices used across the hospital, ensuring high standards of patient care and safety.

ResponsibilitiesPerform regular inspections and tests on clinical and non-clinical hospital equipment, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, industry standards, and hospital protocols.Calibrate medical devices and systems to ensure accurate functionality and compliance with regulatory standards.Diagnose and repair faulty or malfunctioning equipment in a timely and efficient manner, minimizing downtime and disruption to hospital operations.Execute scheduled preventative maintenance activities to extend the lifespan of equipment and prevent unexpected failures.Address and prioritize work orders, ensuring timely completion of service requests and maintaining detailed documentation of work performed.Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, repairs, calibrations, and maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies, hospital policies, and safety standards.Work closely with clinical staff, medical professionals, and other hospital departments to provide technical support and ensure the safe use of medical equipment.For candidates with clinical or trial experience, there may be opportunities to support additional initiatives across the facility, including clinical trials, research programs, and hospital-wide projects.Essential SkillsMedical equipmentCalibrationTest equipmentBiomedical EngineeringMedical deviceBiomedicalEngineeringPreventive maintenanceAdditional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required. The engineering facility is connected to the hospital. All full-time employees within the engineering team are employees of the hospital. This role is part of a community hospital that is part of a larger healthcare system.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00
