Clinical Engineering Technician I

This position is responsible for carrying out Medical Equipment Management Plan as directed by department manager. May advance to Clinical Engineering Technician II with demonstrated experience when there is a business need or an opening at the Clinical Engineering Technician II level.

The Clinical Engineering Technician I is responsible for:

Performing preventive and corrective maintenance as well as scheduled services and related technical activities with close supervision, on medical equipment Work closely with internal care departments to plan and coordinate projects related to key Medical equipment. Maintain an electronic equipment inventory, parts inventory, and work order documentation System. Maintain an equipment conditions assessment of major medical equipment. Communicate with customers regarding equipment status and proper operation of equipment. Works with and assist other technical staff to insure consistency in operations. Solves practical problems and deals with situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schematic form. Responsible for customer satisfaction and problem resolutions and identifies areas for process improvement. Provide in-service trainings, presentations, and orientations for equipment. 

Work schedule: FTE 1.0 (40 hrs. weekly), Day Shift

Required Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an approved clinical engineering electronics program or graduate of an approved electronics program or equivalent experience

Experience: 0 to 2 years’ experience in clinical engineering electronics

Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:     Must have a valid driver’s license and meet the insurability requirements relating to Region’s Hospital motor vehicle violation criteria.
