 City of Hope Medical Group Seeks an Anesthesiologist to Join the Clinical Team

 The Department of Anesthesiology at City of Hope National Medical Center is seeking a physician to meet the needs of our growing program on the Duarte campus.

This position is a rare opportunity to work in a 450+ member integrated, multidisciplinary Medical Group Practice serving an NCI designated comprehensive cancer center in highly desirable Southern California, within our established Department of Anesthesiology.  City of Hope is an expanding institution in both numbers of patients per year as well as infrastructure investment in clinical, academic and research facilities.  This is a timely recruitment, and we will begin interviewing immediately.                                                                                                       

Primary Responsibilities:
Join our nationally recognized team of medical, surgical, and radiation cancer specialists as we seek to add a full-time clinician to our Department of Anesthesiology.

·      Department currently includes Physicians and CRNAs

·      Effort allocation: 95% Clinical

o    About 50% / 50% supervision vs independent

o    Opportunity for academic advancement and quality improvement

·      Cover only one location at Duarte campus

o    Inpatient hospital/outpatient surgery center: 19 sites (ORs, procedure rooms and NORA)

o    No in house call

o    No cardiac, no trauma, no OB. Minimal peds cases

Position Highlights:

·      Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, AD&D, life, Malpractice, CME allowance, 20 days paid vacation, 3 personal days, 18 sick days, 7 holidays, and 10 CME days.

·      City of Hope adds up to 20% of salary to your retirement account (NOT a match—you don’t contribute a penny) each year, up to $61,000

·      Annual academic improvement fund up to $5,000

•    Physicians working for City of Hope Medical Group are now eligible to apply for the Public Student Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program

·      Total Compensation: $440K - $510K (base pay commensurate with qualified academic rank). Additional recruitment incentives available!

o    Additional hourly pay for time exceeding assigned shift: current average $7500 per/month

§  Anesthesiologists working in Duarte are eligible for call pay

·     Additional weekend coverage pay: $20k for 5 weekends per year

Qualifications

Qualifications:

·      Academic record consistent with appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor, Associate Clinical Professor, or Clinical Professor level at City of Hope National Medical Center

·      The selected candidate for the position must be eligible to obtain or already hold an active California medical license

·      American Board of Anesthesiology board eligibility/certification
