Clinical Hematologist

BI Lahey Health – Burlington, MA

Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, a member of Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a board-certified Hematologist with interest and experience in classical and malignant hematology. The position involves evaluation & management of patients in the outpatient and inpatient settings, including consultation to medical and surgical services.  Outpatient care is supported by three dedicated advanced practitioners and hematologist-supervised inpatient care is provided by residents and hospitalists. The successful candidate must have experience in autologous transplantation and be eligible to participate in a FACT-accredited autologous stem cell transplant program. 

The Hematology physicians and advanced practitioners are supported by hematology nurse navigation, a transplant coordinator, and administrative staff.  Collaborative clinical care is provided by the Transfusion Medicine Service, which includes pheresis services, two hematopathologists and Radiation Oncology.  Real-time flow cytometry is performed on-site by dedicated flow cytometry technicians and hematopathologists.   

The Palliative Care Service, Behavioral Oncology, the Survivorship Program, social workers and an acupuncturist provide additional imbedded complementary and supportive care for our hematology patients.  We are a full member of SWOG and NRG and clinical trial participation is available and encouraged. As a primary teaching hospital of Tufts University School of Medicine, academic appointment commensurate with level of expertise and interest is possible. 

Lahey Hospital and Medical Center is a 335-bed tertiary care teaching hospital that is a founding member of Beth Israel Lahey Health.  We are a major teaching affiliate of Tufts Medical School.  As members of the Hematology Program, within the Division of Hematology and Oncology, we are actively involved in the teaching of Tufts medical students, Lahey internal medicine residents, and Tufts Hematology-Oncology fellows.
