Job Description:

The College of Medicine plays an important role in the education of medical students, resident physicians and fellows through its collaboration with the UF Health Physicians practices, UF Health Shands Hospital, and the Malcolm Randall Veterans Affairs Medical Center. As a faculty member in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our educational mission by teaching junior medical students, serving on hospital, medical and department committees, and participating in other department activities, including rounds, special lectures and postgraduate courses. In addition, faculty members are expected to participate in scholarly activities, including research and quality initiatives as appropriate for experience and interests.

As a member of a dedicated team, you will:

Provide care as an obstetrician/gynecologist at UF Health Shands Hospital Provide in-hospital clinical coverage for obstetric and gynecologic care on assigned schedule. Assignments are primarily for after hours, but schedule may be adjusted as determined by the clinical needs of the department Provide educational oversight for learners at all levels during assignments (medical students, other allied health students, residents, and fellows, etc) Support ongoing quality and performance improvement initiatives for the inpatient service, and take leadership roles for selected initiatives as assigned Work with other attendings during scheduled clinical activities to provide collaborative care and coverage for all women’s health service

Goals:

Ensure Attending presence for all deliveries, vaginal and cesarean, triage visits, postpartum care, ED consultations, and all in-patient consultations from other services. Improve the safety of care for patients of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Reduce variations in care for in-patients of the department Expected Salary:

Negotiable; commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Requirements:

Board eligible/certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and eligible for a Florida Medical License

Preferred Qualifications:

Board eligible/certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and eligible for a Florida Medical License

Terminal doctoral degree in a clinical science such as MD or DO degree. Applicants with additional educational degrees such as an MBA, MPH are encouraged to apply.
