Job Description:
The Clinical and Health Informaticist challenges the status quo of the healthcare experience through the Science of Informatics. This is an exciting field where experts innovate, design, simplify and translate technology to equitably support the Intermountain Health mission and vision. The position is responsible to perform workflow and system analysis and functional design for software development / configuration activities associated with clinical applications. Caregivers in this role are also responsible for participating in the implementation, training, adoption, and process improvement of Health Information Technology (HIT). The Informaticist functions as a liaison with business and clinical users and the software development/application teams. This position utilizes intermediate informatics principles, to support and periodically lead moderately complex projects with limited supervision, while continuing to develop clinical understanding and an advanced informatics skillset.Essential Functions

Working knowledge of workflows in a healthcare systemProven experience engaging providers, nurses, and other clinicians in learning through presentation and communication skillsExperience applying informatics fundamentals (People, Process, Technology) to impact quality and safetyExperience participating and leading deliverables of Informatics projectsExperience working with Cerner, Epic, or other EHR vendorsExperience or training in the use of Continuous ImprovementRegistered Nurse and other licensed clinical incumbents must hold and maintain current state licensure.Physical Requirements
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.Frequent interactions with customers that require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment.
