JOB SUMMARY
The Manager of Clinical Informatics 1 serves as the primary resource at the local level for the Electronic Health Record (EHR) & Health Information Technology (HIT) implementation, post implementation help, and as the liaison to Information Systems (IS). The Manager of Clinical Informatics 1 will work closely with Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH) IS to coordinate and head operations through the EHR and other HIT related implementations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
\n\nKnows about the continuum of service lines that work jointly to help hospital/clinic operations. \nMay serve as the Operational Advocate for a service line. \nCoordinates scheduling & logistics for conducting User Acceptance Testing.\nSubject Matter Expert (SME) on business conclusions with informatics impact, end to end workflow and integrated build. Serves as coach to analysts, coordinators, and specialists within the department.\nAssembles team accountable for issue resolution and helps in identifying any technical resources that may be needed. \nProvides help to staff when needed to help with conclusion-making and prioritization of work. \nEstablishes appropriate routes of escalation. \nExecutes tactics to help strategic initiatives that are in-line with the overall informatics strategy.\nPartners with Information Services/Project Management to head key workstreams at the local level within a project, e.g. discovery, overall design sessions, command center staffing and logistics for Health Information Technology projects.\nExamines and presents complex information to key stakeholders, both heads and end users, leveraging a broad knowledge of technology functionality and workflows across multiple modules. \nUtilizes robust skill sets with appropriate research and presentation delivery. \nStays open-minded and encourages others to bring new perspectives.\nSets and redefines priorities and reorganizes staff to increase the group’s response capacity to internal and external demands. \nAssumes accountability for work delegated to others (peers, team members, etc.) \nResolves conflict among team members sensitively and fairly.\n\nKEY SUCCESS FACTORS
\n\nFour or more years of experience in a clinical environment required. \nFour or more years of experience working in informatics role preferred.\nEpic Certification and Informatics Certification (ANCC, HIMSS) required.\nLicensed clinician such as nurse, physical therapist, occupational therapist, pharmacy technician, dietitian, respiratory therapist, speech pathologist, etc. preferred.\nAbility to utilize critical thinking to know, document and optimize complex processes with appropriate solutions.\nAbility to establish and maintain effective professional relationships across organizational lines.\nAbility to make operational steps around how work gets done - quality and productivity standards, measurable goals for employees and project teams, etc.\nAbility to use broader targets to establish how best to use resources to meet schedules and goals.\nAbility to make or approve effective hiring and termination conclusions.\nAbility to evaluate and recommend changes to policies, and establish procedures that affect the managed organization.\nBasic business knowledge, including but not limited to: annual planning and goal setting, adherence to budgets, employee compensation, compliance and risk management.\nAdvanced computer skills, including but not limited to: Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.\n\nBENEFITS - Our competitive benefits package includes the following

QUALIFICATIONS
\n\nEDUCATION - Bachelor's Degree or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification\nEXPERIENCE - 4 Years of Experience\nCERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Cert Prof HC Inform/Man Sys (CPHIMS), Epic Certification (EPICCERT), BC-Informatics Nursing (RN-INFO): Must have one of the following:\n\nEpic Certification\nCertified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) from HIMSS\nInformatics Nursing Certification from ANCC.\n\n\n
