Faculty Appointment Type Non-Tenure Track Term (if applicable) 9 month Begin Date of Appointment 08/11/2025 Exempt/Non-Exempt Exempt General Function The Clinical Instructor is a non-tenure track position with responsibilities for clinical education and service. Clinical faculty may participate in research or other scholarly or creative activities. Description of Primary Duties We seek a candidate with expertise in exercise science, health services, or sports medicine who can demonstrate a commitment to inclusive teaching practices. Teaching responsibilities include instructing, advising, and supporting both undergraduate and graduate students through in-person and online modalities as well as providing access to high impact practices for increasing student retention, persistence, and success. Candidates should provide service to the school, college, and university. Minimum Acceptable Qualifications The minimum acceptable qualifications for the Clinical Instructor rank are determined by the department and approved by the Dean and the Provost. Clinical Faculty must be qualified as defined by professional/discipline standards, have practical experience appropriate for the responsibilities assigned, and must maintain appropriate professional credentials. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required. Additional Qualifications A masters (M.S., M.H.A., M.H.S) in public health, health services, health promotion, health education, kinesiology, exercise physiology, athletic training, or closely related field
Ability to teach courses in exercise science, health services, and/or sports medicine with potential to teach additional related courses
Potential for, or evidence of, the use of innovative, learner-centered pedagogy
