The clinical inventory specialist oversees the procurement, storage, and distribution of medical supplies and equipment in the Cath lab. These duties ensure that essential materials are available when needed for patient care while minimizing waste and controlling costs. Works in collaboration with the Cardiovascular Director of Operations to align the inventory par levels, ensure timely delivery of materials, while adhering to budget constraints and regulatory standards. Responsibilities Inventory Management Monitors and manages the inventory of medical supplies, equipment, and devices. Conducts regular inventory audits to assess stock levels and identify reorder needs. Maintains accurate inventory records in management systems or software. Tracks and manages expiration dates of perishable medical items. Coordinates the restocking of clinical storage rooms and procedural areas. Procurement Collaborate with vendors and supply chain to ensure timely procurement or medical supplies and equipment. Works with physician and clinical team to determine appropriate clinical substitutions when supplies are not available. Partners with physicians and supply chain department to perform value analysis on new technology. Compliance and Safety Maintains compliance with federal, state, and healthcare facility regulations regarding the storage of medical supplies and equipment. Performs lead surveys for the department. Assists with clinical evaluation of recalled supplies or equipment. Cost Control and Budgeting Monitors and controls inventory related expenses and identifies cost saving opportunities. Confirms accurate documentation and charge capture of device usage. Collaboration and Communication Works closely with clinical teams to understand their supply needs and responds to their requests. Trains clinical staff on inventory procedures as needed. Collaborates with the OR to ensure started stock is properly charged for and replenished. Credentials Education Education & Experience High School Diploma or equivalent 3 years clinical and supply chain experience in Interventional Radiology or Cardiac Cath lab Entry USD $33.78/Hr. Expert USD $52.36/Hr.
