Responsibilities
Perform a wide range of microbiological procedures, including:Bacterial culture and identificationAntimicrobial susceptibility testingMycology and parasitology testingMolecular diagnosticsBlood culturesQuality control and instrument maintenanceAnalyze and interpret laboratory results, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all procedures and results.Collaborate with other laboratory staff and healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.Participate in departmental quality assurance and improvement initiatives.Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols.
Qualifications
BA/BS degree required.Continuing education lectures and courses to keep knowledge current as required.Must have experience reading different culture types and setting up cultures traditional and molecular-based.Required training inHematologyChemistryBlood BankMicrobiologyImmunology and Serology as applicable.California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License or Limited California Clinical Laboratory Scientist LicenseCalifornia Clinical Immunohematologist Scientist LicenseCalifornia Clinical Microbiologist Scientist Licenses are required and ASCP registry is preferred.LA Fire card is required.
