Glens Falls Hospital (Glens Falls, NY) seeks Clinical Laboratory Technologists to conduct a variety of testing procedures on patient specimen samples according to physician orders and analyze test results to determine the presence of normal and abnormal components. Utilize the laboratory information system to report all tests results in accordance with New York State Department of Health requirements, and follow Standard Precautions while adhering to hospital and departmental safety policies and regulations. Conduct quality control (QC) testing to ensure accuracy of clinical data, initiate SOPs when QC is out of limits, refer as indicated, and verify/document instrument function by monitoring and calibrating specific instruments. Perform and document routine preventative maintenance on assigned instruments and equipment according to established schedule and procedure, and document any repairs, replacements, and maintenance needs of instruments or equipment. Document and notify all “critical test values” and “call test values” to the appropriate floor/office and physician, and evaluate current methodologies for accuracy and precision. Perform phlebotomy related activities and process patient specimens, ensuring both proper identification and pre/post-test handling requirements.
