Accurately performs clinical laboratory testing in all areas including: chemistry, coagulation, hematology, urinalysis, microbiology, serology and transfusion services. Provides functional guidance to Client Service Coordinator and Phlebotomists regarding specimen collection criteria and result reporting. Participates in quality control, preventive maintenance, quality assurance and proficiency testing activities. Evaluates test results for validity prior to result reporting.Job Description:
EDUCATION
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
Bachelor of Science or equivalent. or equivalent education/experience
Must complete yearly continuing education requirement.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
MT-Medical Technologist
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
One-year internship in a program approved by the State of California.
One-year experience as a generalist is a desirable.
Experience in working in all sections of the laboratory.
Experience in using automated equipment.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Familiarity with PLL based lab information systems desirable.
Demonstrates knowledge of accepted laboratory practices and procedures including proper procurement of specimens, handling and disposing of potentially infectious material.
Knowledge of quality control principles and criteria.
Demonstrates analytical problem-solving skills.

Pay Range is $49.91 to $62.06 / hourThe salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
