Job Description
Perform waived, moderate complexity, and high complexity testing on patient specimens. Utilize critical thinking skills and knowledge of techniques, principles, and instruments to correlate and interpret data. Participate in teaching and training students, new employees, and residents/medical students. Engage in problem resolution, equipment maintenance, reagent preparation, and test result data entry. Complete all required competency assessments in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
+ Perform testing and interpret and verify results.
+ Adjust to fluctuating workloads as required.
+ Conduct quality control procedures and documentation.
+ Perform corrective actions as appropriate.
+ Document out-of-control situations, providing details, results, and corrective actions taken.
+ Follow procedures and perform and document instrument maintenance.
Essential Skills
+ Associates or Bachelors in Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science
+ ASCP or AMT certification, (MLT or MLS)
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in medical, hematology, clinical laboratory, blood bank, chemistry, molecular biology, and microbiology.
Work Environment
Fully on site role. Position is 3rd shift, 11 p.m. - 7 a.m. Monday - Friday, including weekend/holiday rotation and on-call rotation. The work environment is within a Level 1 Trauma Center. The laboratory is unionized, offering specific pay rates and a career ladder for financial growth! Generous benefits are offered and an $8,000 sign on bonus!
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $42.00/hr.
