Position Overview:

This position coordinates the technical support activities in one or more sections of the Clinical Laboratory. Also functions as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in one or more sections of the Clinical Laboratory.

Job Description:

EDUCATION
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
Bachelor's: a physical, chemical or biological science from a college or university accredited by the Western Association of Schools or Colleges or equivalent education/experience

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
CLSL-Licensed Clinical Lab Scientist
OR CA discipline specific license.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
Current experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
Experience operating and maintaining automated laboratory analyzers.
Prior experience in a technical coordinator or lead position.
Experience in quality assurance, technical writing and coordination of proficiency surveys.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Word and EXCEL
Knowledge of theory and test application of clinical chemistry, hematology/microscopy and coagulation are required.
Knowledge of transfusion services.
Requires organization, attention to detail, accuracy, multi-tasking, decisive judgment and the ability to work with frequent interruptions and minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment balancing multiple priorities and take appropriate actions in challenging situations.
Ability to identify problems, prioritize, problem solve.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Knowledge of English language w/strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, problem solve and meet deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Basic keyboarding and computer skills.
Basic math skills demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to gather data to complete reports on a timely basis.
Strong written and oral communication skills.

Pay Range is $57.12 to $71.01 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
