Clinical Nurse
Under the direction of a Nurse Manager (or Executive DON, Ambulatory), a Clinical Nurse provides professional, skilled age-specific nursing care for patients in collaboration with the physician and other disciplines. Performs all aspects of patient care, including but not limited to patient assessment, medication administration, identifying nursing problems, and plans of care. Provides or delegates care according to Valleywise Health policies and functions as a client advocate and educator. Completes and processes all required documentation, indirectly supervises ancillary personnel as directed, and participates in team building and quality improvement activities. The position demonstrates the professional skills and behaviors to promote comprehensive, cost-effective, and meaningful healthcare for consumers in a diverse healthcare environment.   Hourly Pay Rate: $34.15 - $50.37   Qualifications Education:  Prefer a bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing. Experience: Must complete the Valleywise Health New Graduate RN training program or have prior acute nursing experience demonstrating an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Previous acute care hospital experience in the area for which he or she is applying is preferred. Certification/Licensure: Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license, temporary AZ RN license, or valid compact RN licensure for current state of practice. Must also be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing. Requires a BLS card obtained through the American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire. In addition, certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice: Ambulatory Clinics: Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. Must complete a fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of the hire date. Must present an actual card within ninety (90) days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card. Angio Suite: Must obtain ACLS and PALS within six (6) months of hire or transfer. Antepartum Testing Center: Requires Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification Upon hire. Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. Must complete a fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of the hire date. Must present an actual card within ninety (90) days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card. APCU: ACLS certification is required upon hire or transfer. Behavioral Health: CPI certification and BLS Card training will be provided upon hire/transfer to BH departments. BH Unit 2 Adolescent: Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. Must complete a fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of the hire date. Must present an actual card within ninety (90) days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card. Burn Med Surg Adult: ACLS required upon hire. PALS and ABLS are required within twenty-four (24) months of hire or transfer. Burn Med Surg Peds: ACLS required within Twelve (12) months. PALS and ABLS are required within twenty-four (24) months of hire or transfer. Burn Center ICU: ACLS is required within twelve (12) months. PALS and ABLS are required within twenty-four (24) months of hire or transfer. Burn Unit Emergency: ACLS and PALS are required within twelve (12) months of hire or transfer. ABLS is required within twenty-four (24) months of hire or transfer. Burn Clinic: ACLS and PALS are required within twelve (12) months of hire or transfer. ABLS is required in twenty-four (24) months of hire or transfer. Cath Lab: Must have ACLS certification at the time of hire or transfer. Dialysis: Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. Must complete a fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of the hire date. Must present an actual card within ninety (90) days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card. ED - Roosevelt: Requires ACLS and PALS certification upon hire. ATCN or TNCC certification must be obtained within twelve (12) months. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification is preferred. ED - Maryvale: Requires ACLS and PALS certification upon hire. ENDO: ACLS and PALS are required within six (6) months of hire or transfer. Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) certification is preferred. FQHC Primary Care: Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. Must complete a fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of the hire date. Must present an actual card within ninety (90) days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card. L&D: ACLS and NRP are required within six (6) months of hire or transfer. If less than 2 years of RN L&D experience, the candidate must complete the AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring class within six (6) months and the AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring class within 2 years. If greater than two (2) years of RN L&D experience, will need to complete AWHONN advanced fetal monitoring within 1 year. Advanced Fetal Monitoring must be maintained every two (2) years through an approved course. IRP: Must obtain ACLS and PALS certification upon hire/transfer. McDowell Clinic: HIV certification is required within six (6) months. Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. Must complete a fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of the hire date. Must present an actual card within ninety (90) days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card. Medical: ONS (Chemotherapy Biotherapy Card) within twelve (12) months of hire or transfer. Medicine Specialty Clinic: Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. Must complete a fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of hire date. Must present an actual card within ninety (90) days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card. MICU: Must obtain ACLS certification within six (6) months of hire or transfer. Nephrology: Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. Must complete a fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of the hire date. Must present an actual card within ninety (90) days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card. NICU: NRP is required within six (6) months of hire or transfer. Nursing Float Pool: Must obtain ACLS certification upon hire or transfer. Oncology Clinic: Chemo Certification is required within six (6) months. OR (other than Peoria): CNOR certification is preferred. OR (Peoria): Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. Must complete a fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of the hire date. Must present an actual card within ninety (90) days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card. PreOp/PACU (Other than Peoria): Must obtain ACLS and PALS within six (6) months. ATCN or TNCC within twelve (12) months. Certification must be obtained within twelve (12) months. PreOp/PACU (Peoria): Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. Must complete a fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of the hire date. Must present an actual card within ninety (90) days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card. PICU: Must obtain NRP and PALS within six (6) months and ATCN, TCAR, or TNCC. Peds Acute: PALS and NRP must be obtained within six (6) months of hire or transfer. Post Partum: NRP is required within six (6) months of hire or transfer. Intermediate Fetal Monitoring is preferred. PreOp: Must obtain ACLS and PALS within six (6) months. ATCN or TNCC certification must be obtained within twelve (12) months. SICU: Must obtain ACLS certification within six (6) months of hire or transfer. Must obtain ATCN, TNCC, or TCAR within twelve (12) months. Surgical: Must obtain ACLS certification upon hire or transfer. Surgical Specialty Clinic: Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. Must complete a fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of the hire date. Must present an actual card within ninety (90) days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must. Bilingual is preferred. Must have excellent communication, time management, and customer service skills. Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g., formatting, editing, printing, composing email, internet searches, etc.) to be able to successfully navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer. Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
