A Brief Overview:
The RN Clinical Educator is a critical role responsible for providing clinical education, training, and mentorship to nursing staff, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). The Clinical Educator plays a vital role in enhancing the skills and knowledge of nursing professionals, promoting evidence-based practice, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

What you will do:

Develop, deliver, and facilitate educational programs and training sessions for nursing staff, covering a range of clinical topics and skillsProvide comprehensive orientation programs for new nursing hires, ensuring they are well-prepared to deliver safe and effective patient care.Assess the clinical competence of nursing staff through skill evaluations, competency assessments, and clinical simulations.Collaborate with the nursing leadership team to develop and update educational materials, curricula, and learning resourcesMentor and guide nursing staff in their professional growth, identifying opportunities for skill enhancement and career development.Teach and reinforce clinical skills, including IV therapy, wound care, medication administration, and other relevant nursing procedures.Promote evidence-based practice among nursing staff, encouraging the application of the latest research and best practices in patient care.Stay current with advances in nursing practice, guidelines, and technology to ensure the delivery of safe and high-quality care.Collaborate with clinical departments, nursing leaders, and healthcare professionals to integrate educational initiatives with clinical practice. Maintain accurate records of educational programs, attendance, and competency assessments.Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and make recommendations for improvements and enhancements.Ensure that nursing staff meet regulatory requirements and hospital policies for education and competency.

 

What you will need:

Bachelors Degree Nursing Required OrMasters Degree Nursing Preferred5+ Years of clinical nursing experience, with demonstrated expertise in relevant nursing specialties. AndExperience in nursing education, curriculum development, and program deliveryRegistered Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois. Required
