The Clinical Nurse Educator will serve as an expert resource for nurses and patient care staff, providing consultation services, education services and resource development opportunities. **SCHEDULE** The Clinical Nurse Educator will work day shifts, 40 hours per week. **RESPONSIBILITIES** Orientation: + Plans, implements, and evaluates central orientation program for permanentSupport and Promote Systems to Maintain, Develop and Document Competency of Nursing Staff: + Collaborates in the development/revision of nursing competencies.Consultation: + Acts as an education resource to support quality patient care via collaboration with Nurse/Department Managers, staff and other members of the health care team.Continuing Education: + Promotes and support a high functioning environment that fosters continuing learning and professional development.Support of Organizational Priorities and Goals: + Demonstrates professional responsibility and leadership through participation in medical center, university and professional activities.Quality Assessment and Improvement: + Participates in development and implementation of quality assessment and improvement programs within the department and across units/specialties **REQUIREMENTS** + Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington + Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field + 4 years of clinical nursing experience; with at least 2 years being clinical leadership experience in an acute care medical center **DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:** + Previous work experience in nursing education. + Experience creating virtual teaching and learning platforms **ABOUT UW MEDICAL CENTER-MONTLAKE** UW Medical Center is an acute care academic medical center located in Seattle with two campuses: Montlake and Northwest.
