Accountabilities:

Accountability over a 43 Bed Telemetry Unit and a 5- Bay Inpatient Dialysis Unit. Working hours include Monday - Friday on site, no weekends and no holidays; with some accountability 24/7 for changing needs of the department/environment in critical situations. To assess direct and evaluate wholistic nursing practice on a 24-hour basis and to support the development of professional nurses and other team members functioning within the respective patient care area. To coordinate the departmental operations and to achieve optimal quality, satisfaction and financial outcomes via collaboration with physicians and other health care disciplines. To develop team members to their fullest potential by focusing on mentoring plans to achieve optimal retention and succession planning outcomes. The manager takes responsibility to foster collaborative behaviors across disciplines within respective unit and uphold standards of care. To work collaboratively with physicians and other members of the health care team internal and external to the organization. To provide leadership in areas requiring collaboration negotiation and communication to achieve desired outcomes.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Current RN license in Illinois

Graduation from approved School of Nursing: BSN or BS w/ MSN

2-3 years of leadership experience

3 years of experience in specialty area

Management development training with progressive supervisory assignments.

Board Certification or within two years of hire.

Ability to cooperate well with others.

Basic management skills

Team building skills

Working knowledge of managed care environment

Global perspective of changing health care environment

Ability to prioritize work

Basic computer skills

Effective interpersonal communication skills

Presentation skills

Utilization of critical thinking in timely decision-making

Basic finance and statistics skills

CPR certification

Resilience and flexibility to deal with a changing environment

Work hours are variable depending in current projects

24/7 Accountability; must be available to respond to the changing needs of their department
