OverviewPavilion 8, an Intermediate surgical and medical surgical unit with 30 single rooms and the capacity to be a complete intermediate unit, is genuinely committed to providing extraordinary patient care. Our surgical services include ENT, Vascular, Plastic Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Surgical oncology, and Urology. Our leadership structure, comprised of a clinical director, an assistant clinical director, clinical nurse managers, and a clinical educator, is dedicated to supporting our staff and patient safety.
Pavilion 8 is supported by our unit secretaries, critical care technicians, and registered nurses seven days a week. We work towards having all of our nurses’ cross-trained in surgical intermediate within the first year at Cooper. Pavilion-8 fosters a close relationship with our providers, as our APN’s and Surgical Residents are easily accessible for support, questions, and directions with patient care. They have offices right here on the unit, along with our leadership team and our transitional care team.
Short DescriptionThe Clinical Nurse Manager will provide the knowledge, skill, and expertise necessary to successfully support the day to day operations of the clinical unit.
The Clinical Nurse Manager will be responsible to:
Oversee assignments.Assist in quality and throughput goals.Support staff engagement by serving the unit in a consistent, supportive, and compassionate manner.Role model/mentor clinical staff to address patient needs effectively.Supports quality patient care and organizational priorities at the direction of the Clinical Director.Identify and support the elements of improved care quality care using HRO principles. Experience Required A minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting, with 1 year of demonstrated leadership abilities. Education Requirements Graduate from an NLN accredited school of nursing. Bachelor’s in Nursing required, Masters preferred or in progress within 6-12 months of hire. License/Certification Requirements NJ-RN: Current New Jersey license as a Registered Nurse.BLS & ACLS certification.CNL or AACN Specialty certification preferred. Special Requirements Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills required.
