**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** Rotating Shift **Description:** Using the Quality Caring Model, the Maternity Suite Nurse provides care to Mothers and infants after delivery in private recovery rooms (known as couplet care) to a diverse patient population. **Job Title:** Clinical Nurse – Maternity Suites **Employment Type:** Full time / 36 Hours Weekly **Shift:** Rotating Shift **Location:** Germantown, MD **Position Highlights:** + **Competitive pay; Sign-On Bonus to qualified applicants** + **Benefits –** Medical, Dental & Vision, PTO, Free Parking, Metro Access, Tuition Reimbursement, 403(b) + **Quality of Life:** Flexible work schedules + **Advancement:** Opportunities to advance through the Clinical Advancement Program **Description** **:** + Using the Quality Caring Model, the Maternity Suite Nurse provides care to Mothers and infants after delivery in private recovery rooms (known as couplet care) to a diverse patient population. + This role reports to the Director of Labor & Delivery. + The Clinical Nurse has a high level of autonomy while collaborating with our care management team, including physicians, NICU team and charge nurse. **Responsibilities** **:** + Provide care to Mothers and infants after delivery in private recovery rooms (known as couplet care) to a diverse patient population. + Use your critical thinking and prioritization skills to adjust to changing patient statuses commonly found in the postpartum and neonatal period according to AWHONN and hospital standards. + Interface directly with Physicians for patient advocacy. + Assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate response to high risk maternal and neonatal complications. + Perform all newborn screening tests and standard lab work. + Provide hands-on Lactation support at the bedside + Patient teachings on basic/ high risk newborn and postpartum care. + Maintain appropriate patient care and infection control techniques for the mother-baby dyad. **What you will need** **Required:** + Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree (with requirement to obtain a BSN/MSN within a specific time frame) + Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse. + BLS certification (American Heart Association). + At least 1 year of nursing experience **Preferred:** + BSN or MSN preferred. + EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certification through NCC; or obtain within 1st year of hire. Pay Range: $35.41 – $54.19 Pay is based on experience, skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
