Clinical Nurse Specialist - Education - Neonatal ICU

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is an expert clinician who may practice in a specialty area with expertise in teaching, mentoring, consulting, research, management and systems improvement. The clinical nurse specialist influences outcomes by providing expert consultation to all care providers and by implementing improvements in health care delivery systems.

Required Qualifications: 

Master's Degree from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC) or Ph.D. from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or Coursework/Training: Currently enrolled in a Master's, DNP, or Ph.D. clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC) or Coursework/Training: Equivalent coursework and experience will be considered (Example: Masters in Nursing or Doctoral degree in Nursing that did not major in the CNS role, such as those that are in Nursing Administration or Nursing Education)  Washington Registered Nurse License upon hire National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire 3 years of registered nursing experience in area of specialty    

Preferred Qualifications:

Current certification as a CNS upon hire Current certification in area of specialty upon hire 2 years of clinical leadership responsibility
