The role you’ll contribute:

The Clinical Nutrition Database Specialist maintains the CBORD foodservice software program by monitoring the nutritionals, allergens, recipes, and food items that are used in the Nutritional Services (NS) department. Serves as an expert resource to the Adventist Information Technology (AIT) department for CBORD interface issues, campus NS directors, clinical nutrition coordinators, dietitians, and diet office staff. Integrates CBORD into clinical and AIT applications. Develops and provides training relating to all CBORD databases. Facilitates projects and assignments and monitors for accuracy and timeliness. Ensures patient safety by maintaining a test environment to ensure accuracy of information before entering the live menu environment. Facilitates CBORD upgrades. Provides menu support for each campus including the development of house diets, and diet type coding for allergy and preference compliance. As the subject matter expert, reviews, edits, and updates NS recipes to ensure accurate nutritionals, allergens, and portion sizes. Occasional local travel is required. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Serves as the subject matter expert and clinical resource to the AIT department, campus NS directors, clinical nutrition managers, dietitians, and diet office staff for CBORD interface and menu issues.

Troubleshoots and resolves errors, makes CBORD system adjustments, and provides remote computer support and step-by-step guidance.

Assists with creation and implementation of patient services’ menus.

Assists and collaborates with CBORD project managers.

Ensures integration of the foodservice program and electronic health record databases.

Ensures allergens are accurately coded into database.

Responsible for ensuring that therapeutic diets meet organizational and regulatory requirements.

Ensures agreement between diets available in i-Extend and CBORD diets.

Collaborates with other departments to schedule services and network requirements to ensure all elements are in place for accurate and timely patient meal service.

Maintains and audits all individual campus CBORD databases.

Integrates new menus, diets, supplements, and patterns for all campus databases with clinical and AIT applications.

Creates, implements, and updates all therapeutic diets, individual menu items, and recipes.

Codes items for compliances, allergies, and preferences for each campus.

Troubleshoots CBORD databases when errors occur.

Facilitates, implements and manages CBORD upgrades for all campuses, including hardware functionality and drivers.

Tests CBORD upgrades, new functions, and new builds.

Maintains the test environment and manually tests accuracy of each diet, each meal, and each day on all individual campus databases.

Develops and provides CBORD training and training materials to NS leaders, other users, and dietetic interns.

Facilitates ongoing training and training related to changes and upgrades.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences, Human Nutrition or nutrition-related field.

Two (2) years’ experience in Clinical Nutrition.

Two (2) years’ experience with electronic health records or nutritional analysis software.

Experience creating, evaluating, and scaling recipes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

Master’s Degree.

CBORD database experience.

CBORD Nutrition Service Suite knowledge.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

Current, active State of Florida Dietitian/Nutritionist license.

Current, active Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

ServSafe Allergens certificate.

ServSafe Certification OR Florida Food Handler Certification.
