Job Summary
This role will lead inpatient and outpatient pediatric clinical nutrition teams. Manages, supervises, and coordinates the operational effectiveness and efficiency of medical nutrition therapy (MNT) at Corewell Health. Collaborates with the leadership team to develop site and service goals providing input related to the development and management of the budget. Develops policies and procedures in coordination with other leaders to support MNT in the provision of excellent clinical services.
Essential Functions
Assumes day-to-day accountability for the delivery of quality services by directing the nutrition assessment of patients of the hospital. Orders or directs ordering of educational materials for patients.Directs the preparation and maintenance of patient’s clinical records.Accompanies physicians on rounds and keeps informed of special orders concerning patients.Keeps medical staff and allied professionals informed of clinical nutrition related information.Manages activities related to age-specific nutrition care and education to patients.Manages the activities of professional, clinical, technical and support employees who are engaged in providing quality nutrition services to patients, including counseling and education. Provides direction and support to subordinate employees to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. Facilitates the training and continuing education of employees. Selects, trains, develops, and evaluates subordinates and initiates personnel actions in accordance with departmental policies and organization philosophy.Oversees the resolution of day-to-day issues related to the appropriate use of diet and the coordination of services with other patient care activities.Develops, implements, and maintains departmental annual operating budgets, ensuring that operations are managed within established guidelines.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree Dietetics - Required5 years of relevant medical nutrition therapy experience preferably in a health care setting - Required2 years of relevant experience supervisory - PreferredCRT-Registered Dietitian (RD) - CDR Commission on Dietetic Registration - Required
