What Health System Pharmacy contributes to Cardinal Health

Pharmacy Operations is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective coordination of Cardinal Health's pharmacy operations that service acute care hospitals, hospital retail customers, ambulatory care and alternate site facilities, oncology and cardiology practices as well as retail customers.

Health System Pharmacy is responsible for providing customized pharmacy program solutions that reduce costs and improve patient care quality for hospitals, health systems and other integrated healthcare providers may also consult with and advise healthcare team on prescribed medications, supplies and related processes.

Cardinal Health manages the pharmacy at St. John's Medical Center, and we are currently recruiting for a Clinical Oncology Infusion Pharmacist to work full-time 40 hours a week, as well as weekends as needed and occasional on call coverage. Standard schedule is Monday-Friday 7:30AM-4PM. Weekend hours are 7AM-12PM.

Responsibilities:

Support the Clinical Oncology Infusion Team (40%)

Communicate interventions as a member of the healthcare teamParticipate in development of oncology/infusion regimens in the EHRDocumentation of pharmacy interventions to drive metricsEducation of policies and proceduresInitiate quality assurance programingMonitor compliance with drug utilizationMaintain clear and professional communication with all customersSupport Admixture services - Assist with organizing and directing workflow efficiencies

Clinical Medication & Treatment Review (30%) –

Value-based Care InitiativesNCCN Guidelines and Pathway ComplianceClinical, Safety, Dosing, CyclesInitiatives: Dose rounding, Preferred Drugs, Therapeutic InterchangeHelp establish Drug Specific ProtocolsBiosimilar utilizationDrive performance through bench marking and data metrics

Provider/Nursing/Pharmacy Education (15%)

Lead and participate in pharmacy educational programsNursing in-servicesAttend clinic operations meetingsLocal and National level committee participation

Support to Central Pharmacy Department (15%)

Order verificationWeekend coverageParticipate in Holiday coverageEvening coverage and on-call on occasion to support department needs



Qualifications

4-8 years of experience, preferredPharmD from an accredited school of pharmacyPharmacy Residency experience preferredBoard Certified in Oncology (BCOP) preferred or willing to obtain within 3 years of hireLicensed, “good standing” pharmacist in the state of Wyoming or willing to become licensed in the state within 6 months of hireIn-patient hospital pharmacy experience preferredFlexibility to work various shiftsIV experience preferred or willing to obtainAbility to hear, write, and speak clearly in order to communicate with customers and health care professionalsStrong customer service skills.Manual dexterity required for occasional reach, lifting and holding of small objects.Computer savvy to learn and perform successful operation of multiple pharmacy information systems.

Anticipated hourly range: $52.90 per hour - $79.27 per hour
