Summary of Job Duties:Within the Cardiovascular Service Line (CVSL), the Clinical and Operational Performance Manager (COPM) provides management and oversight of all clinical and operational analytics as well as development and execution of necessary performance improvement deliverables. The COPQIPIM is a critical leadership role within the Cardiovascular Service Line (CVSL) at UAMS. This position will enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness within the cardiology department by overseeing data analysts responsible for extracting and managing crucial data from various cardiology databases, including CathPCI, STS/TVT, STS National, AFIB, LAAO, Chest Pain, Intermacs, ELSO, and Heart Failure. The COPQIPIM will combine quality coordination and management responsibilities to ensure comprehensive oversight of quality initiatives essential for accreditation compliance and improved patient care outcomes.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor degree
RN License w/ BSN or greater degree
Minimum 2 years of clinical or programmatic experience in an acute care facility
Advanced communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills; ability to present to large audiences effectively
Strong skills in MS Office, database software, and analytics software such as SPSS, Minitab and PowerBI
Upon request, must be able to provide samples demonstrating proficiency in areas indicated above as well as technical writing and presentations
Preferred Qualifications:
4 years or more of clinical/programmatic experience in an academic, state, or acute care institution.
Proven ability to implement accreditation programs related to cardiology
Demonstrated ability to align and motivate key process stakeholders, including nurses, physicians, and other clinical/administrative staff
Demonstrated experience managing large performance improvement projects
Ability to translate complex data into actionable strategist for diverse audiences
Ability to communicate challenges and corrections for documentation and processes to senior leaders and cardiovascular providers.
Superior organizational and time management skills

CPHQ, infection prevention, Six-Sigma black belt, or process improvement certifications

Unify quality coordination, enhance accreditation compliance, implement telehealth solutions, and promote a culture of continuous improvement—aimed at improving patient outcomes and optimizing the delivery of cardiac care.
Drive outreach efforts to ensure compliance with state and national accreditation standards.
Engaging with regulatory bodies and stakeholders will position UAMS as a leader in quality cardiac care, enhancing institutional credibility and attracting more patients.
Lead quality improvement initiatives while also initially serving as the quality coordinator for each accreditation program until dedicated quality coordinators can be hired.
Oversight is crucial for maintaining UAMS's reputation for excellence in cardiac care and ensuring compliance that directly impacts patient safety and outcomes.
Identify the need for and facilitate the hiring of quality coordinators for each accreditation program. Strategic hiring will effectively distribute responsibilities, leading to better compliance processes and allowing the COPQIPIM to focus on overarching quality initiatives and strategies.
Implement and monitor a telehealth initiative utilizing the UAMS Institute for Digital Health & Innovation (IDHI), the COPQIPIM will expand access to specialty care for patients with cardiovascular conditions. This innovative approach is vital for improving patient engagement and outcomes in an evolving healthcare landscape.
Develop a robust quality program to maintain each of the 9 CVSL quality registries, involving a collaborative team consisting of data analysts, program specialists, quality coordinators, and transition of care nurses to enhance various quality roles within the cardiology department
Perform duties as a registered specialty nurse and a quality management coordinator for each of the related Accreditation programs.
Respond to STEMI alerts to ensure the pathway is followed and timeliness response is met.
Develop protocols and procedures for STEMI, Chest pain MI, and Cath PCI programs to ensure UAMS is holding to a national standard of care.
Data Analysis related to our CVSL registries to make changes to pathways and protocols such as Heart Failure and to help prevent heart failure readmissions by setting a follow-up procedure process with our patients.
Work closely with local EMS services to ensure timely and appropriate response to cardiac emergencies such as STEMI, ECMO, and ECPR programs
Hold seats on state chest pain and heart attack regional and state-level programs to get and stay ahead of our needs and to promote UAMS and elevate UAMS on the state level of recognition for cardiac services including development of state protocols. To include EMS Advisory Council, State Heart Attack Advisory Council, and Pulsara
Develop outreach with regional hospitals across Arkansas to help encourage the use of UAMS cardiology as a part of their network for a higher level of care and to help other hospitals understand the critical role cardiology core measures play related to Cardiovascular mortality.
Develop an annual internal review process for all 9 of our quality program
