Clinical Pharmacist II

The Pharmacist II Acute Care routinely performs clinical support in addition to preparing and dispensing prescribed medications to patients in the acute care setting. This role is accountable for the maintenance of all aspects of medication administration inclusive of:
efficiency and effectiveness of medication therapeutics and dispensing, evaluation of appropriateness of drug utilization, nursing support for patient and staff education, and supervision of pharmacy technicians.
Interprets and follows physician instructions to deliver the correct care to the correct patient.
Oversees and verifies prescription order entry, packaging and dispensing.
Provides and monitors pharmacy driven protocols, drug utilization and medication-related information to healthcare professionals, patients and the public.
Supervises and evaluates pharmacy technicians.
Precepts students.
Provides other clinical services as necessary to facilitate patient care.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:Required: Doctor of Pharmacy or BSPharm
EXPERIENCE:Required: 3 years
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required:
Registered Pharmacist in NC
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
