Position: Clinical Pharmacist – Decentralized: Nights 7-on, 7-off

Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NH NHRMC) is looking for a highly skilled pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical care to all age groups. NH NHRMC is the 9th largest health-system in North Carolina with 800 + beds and is a comprehensive stroke and level II trauma, teaching community hospital. The 17th Street Campus consists of a Women’s and Children’s center with NICU and PICU, neurology tower, medical/surgical tower, and inpatient rehabilitation and psychiatry units.
Pharmacists work with other healthcare providers to optimize medication regimens using evidence-based medicine and standards of care. The pharmacist will work 10-hour shifts (0.875 FTE - 2130-0800) and cover pharmacy consults primarily in our medical/surgical, neurology, and Women’s and Children’s facilities as well as provide direct patient care with participation in various emergency situations. Coverage for off-site facilities will be included. In addition, the pharmacist will help with order verification when possible. The pharmacist will also provide services that maximize the hospital’s ability to meet national indicators. Other responsibilities include providing educational in-services, developing policies and/or processes to improve departmental operations and participation in at least one departmental or hospital committee, serving as student and/or resident preceptor. Breakdown of job responsibilities: direct patient care (50%), order verification/distribution (30%), education (15%), and administration (5%). Other requirements include: BLS and ACLS certification and publications.
Applicants must have graduated from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy, have completed a PGY1 residency or equivalent, and be eligible for North Carolina licensure. Board Certification is encouraged.

Qualifications
+ Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) Certification. Doctorate of Pharmacy PhD, preferred.
+ Experience: Postgraduate year 1 residency or fellowship OR two years of experience as a registered pharmacist in health system pharmacy, required.
+ Licensure/Certification: Current Pharmacy licensure in appropriate state(s) or must be completed within 30 days of start date by either examination or reciprocity, required. Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification or other approved certification must be obtained and continuously maintained within 2 years of start date as applicable to the role; excludes PRN team members who may not be eligible to take certification exam, required.
+ Additional Skills (required): Other duties as outlined in Novant Health and facility specific policies and procedures. Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed. Ability to work as part of a high performing, change ready and resilient team.
