This position is full-time (40 hours weekly, 8-hour shifts) that works day shift collaborating with interdisciplinary care teams to maintain and propose best new treatment practice order sets in accordance with the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines and primary literature.

As a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist you will:

Serve as the pharmacy lead and point of contact for hematology and oncology order setsFacilitate and collaborate with appropriate caregivers in the development, reviewing and updating of hematology and oncology orders sets with an understanding of the pharmacy operational impact of such order setsWork collaboratively with IVAS Newark campus in the operational implementation of hematology/oncology order sets and PowerPlansEvaluate drug efficacy, monitor therapeutic goals and outcomes, and review for contraindications/precautionsOrder and evaluate laboratory tests per approved protocols to support medication therapy monitoringElectronically document interventions and provide sign out as appropriateOpportunities to serve as a preceptor for both pharmacy students and residentsAssist with projects such as MUEs, drug monographs, and performance improvement activitiesReview and interpret provider orders and dispense medicationServe as a representative for the Department of Pharmacy on appropriate hospital committees/projects including oncology drug managementNavigate oncology drug shortages, including recommendation of alternative therapies when appropriate

Education and Experience Requirements:

PharmD degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy requiredASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency required or equivalent experience (3 years of clinical pharmacy experience)ASHP-accredited PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency required or equivalent experience (3 years of oncology pharmacy experience, in addition to PGY1 residency or equivalent)Experience in hospital oncology pharmacy practice preferredBoard Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) required within 2 years of hireCurrent licensure (or eligible to reciprocate) in the State of Delaware
