Job Summary

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Michigan is seeking a full-time clinical-track faculty member to work in Ambulatory Psychiatry to focus on the treatment of adults. The U-M Department of Psychiatry involves more than 150 faculty, robust research programs, busy general and subspecialized clinical programs, and clinical and research training opportunities. 

 

The ideal candidate for this position will focus on provision of high-quality clinical care and education at a well-developed, highly multidisciplinary adult clinic. This includes general psychiatric care for adults with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, etc. based on skill and interest. The candidate will share in teaching responsibilities of medical learners including medical students, house officers, and clinical fellows.

 

In addition to direct patient care, our faculty have the opportunity to:

Participate in or lead quality improvement and research effortsProvide mentorship, didactic teaching, and engage in patient care activities with learners in related disciplines including social work, psychology, and pharmacy.

Required Qualifications*

Applicants must hold an M.D. or equivalent degree, be certified or eligible and working towards certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and must hold or be eligible for Michigan medical and pharmacy licenses. Evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching is expected.

Modes of Work

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third-party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.

In addition to the screenings indicated above under Michigan law, a criminal history check including fingerprinting is required as a condition of transfer or employment for this position.
