The Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Clinical Program Coordinators to work on the UHealth Campus.

Core Summary

The Clinical Program Coordinator assists in the development, organization, production, and evaluation of a variety of health promotion and educational program offerings for patients in the assigned unit. Moreover, this employee provides general oversight to daily program activities in support of the University’s mission. The Clinical Program Coordinator may also monitor the financial performance of programs to meet departmental goals and assists with short- and long-range budgetary planning.

Core Responsibilities

Manages tasks related clinical operations for pulmonary providers; monitors template activity, establishes patient relationships, assist with chart preparations, and navigates system for expeditious diagnostic testing requests.Collaborates and partners with Bascom Palmer staff to ensure seamless scheduling for patients participating in sleep studies and ambulatory care.Reviews templates for pulmonary providers and redistributes patient appointments according to schedule availability (urgent appts, VIPs, PRN, etc.)Screens in basket messages and addresses non-medical related issues within 72 hours – escalates medical related requests to Registered Nurse pool for immediate handling. Ensures patients requests/calls are handled with a  24-48 hour business day window.Executes all prior authorizations and durable medical equipment (DME) requests for sleep patients.Screens all New Patient Visits for Sleep providers and ensure patients have adequate records before clinical appointmentsServes as NICE system expert and data manager; reviews dashboard, monitors calls in queue, addresses long wait times, handle times, wrap ups, and agent dispositions (lunch, breaks, etc.). Assist as backup agent during peak times and aids agents during complex calls that require higher level experience.Partners with Administrative Operations Manager to monitor the NICE reporting data  for agent productivity on weekly basis. Makes suggestions to leaders to ensure there is adequate coverage for patient care coordination.  Serves as administrative and clinical support for Divisional Leadership (Division Chief & Associate Chief of Clinical Operations); facilitates appointments, reimbursements, calendar management, clinical escalations, travel arrangements, faculty recruit visits/interviews, etc.Serves as primary lead for Physician Leave Request (total 35 providers) – PLRs submission, PLR Less than 45 Days department form, and rescheduling of patients <45 days.Manages all VIP appointments (Executive Medicine, Chair requests) escalations and calls.Serve as lead trainer for CBOR group to ensure the group is following our SOPs and providing a positive patient experience

Core Qualifications
