The Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Clinical Program Coordinator to work on the UHealth Campus.
Core Summary
The Clinical Program Coordinator assists in the development, organization, production, and evaluation of a variety of health promotion and educational program offerings for patients in the assigned unit. Core Responsibilities
+ Evaluates program effectiveness, analyzes results, and recommends appropriate action. Coordinates program activities with other program, department or staff activities, ensuring optimum efficiency. Trains, develops, and empowers staff to effectively perform their jobs.
+ Acts as a main point of contact for project funders, advisors, speakers, and participants, and recruits program participants, members, and volunteers.
+ Develops cooperative relationships with patients and families by projecting a positive image and creating a professional atmosphere.
+ Develops program communications and promotional literature for distribution, including newsletters, brochures, and flyers.
+ Prepares periodic reports, financial statements, and records for management or outside agencies. Maintains patient confidentiality as well as the confidentiality of hospital business information. Performs patient phlebotomy by prescribed technique outlined in the Phlebotomy Procedure Manual
+ Oversees the maintenance of established supply levels in unit and supply rooms. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Department Specific Functions
Incumbent will support and assist PI and Co PIs who direct Gender Minority Scientific Working Group (SWG) for the Miami Center for AIDS research.
+ Will assist to prepare for the federal site visit/s.
+ Support the PI and SWG co-directors with research administrative duties.
+ Will be assisting to collect clinical data and manage existing research database.
+ Will be preforming literature reviews, develop presentations and work with the writing team as needed.
+ Provide support for future research development.
+ Incumbent will support and assist the P.I. who directs the Gender Wellness program at the UM RAPID Wellness Clinic.
+ Serve as the lead clinical coordinator and liaison between the transgender community and the RAW/Mobile PrEP Clinic and the GenWell Clinic Program for Dr. Laura Beauchamps, gaining insight into facilitators and barriers to PrEP uptake and gender-affirming treatment
+ Build and maintain professional relationships with community partners, such as TransSocial and the McKenzie Project, by communicating regularly to understand mutual needs and goals.
+ Lead and supervise the training and orientation of MSOM medical students at the UM MSOM Wolfson DOCS Clinic, facilitating access to biomedical prevention services like PrEP, PEP, Test and Treat, gender-affirming treatment and STI & HIV testing.
+ Coordinate meetings with physicians, attend health fairs and events, and collaborate with community partners to obtain patient referrals and share available resources.
+ Plan and attend promotional and educational events to increase community awareness as the lead clinical coordinator for the GenWell Clinic Program.
+ Educate patients on gender-affirming therapy and PrEP adherence while providing essential HIV counseling and testing services to at-risk individuals and families.
+ Facilitate access to biomedical prevention and treatment services, including PrEP, nPEP, Anti-Retroviral Treatment (ART), and gender-affirming servi to over 2,000 patients through various programs.
+ Guide patients through Gilead’s Patient Assistance Programs, ViiVConnect Portal, and Ready Set PrEP programs to cover medication costs, participating in promotional campaigns and outreach as needed.
+ Design, implement, and evaluate innovative outreach events and activities, tracking results to refine approaches and maximize impact

Core Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
+ Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
+ One year of relevant experience performing phlebotomy functions in a medical setting
+ Completion of a phlebotomy course and certification required
+ BLS and HIV Certification
+ Bilingual (English-Spanish or English-Haitian Creole) preferred.

+ Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
+ Ability to understand and follow instructions.
