Clinical Program Manager - Clinical Student Program - Hybrid Remote with WA or OR

Join us to start **Caring. Connecting. Growing together.** We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Program Manager to drive our "Grow Our Own" clinician student pipeline program. This role focuses on developing a top-tier Clinical Student Program, partnering with quality universities, selecting top students, and increasing retention rates by training and then hiring students who have excelled in our program, consistently demonstrated high quality patient care and are aligned with our organizational culture. This position will reside in the Office of Clinician Experience (OOCE) department and report to the Sr. Director of OOCE and Strategy Execution Team. The Office of Clinician Experience is dedicated to supporting clinicians throughout their careers starting with a robust clinical student training program, a solid onboarding experience, wellness focused programs and events to build collegial relationships and community. If you are located in WA or OR, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges. Telecommute 80% onsite 20% **Primary Responsibilities:** **Program - Develop, Maintain and Continually Improve:** + Support the Oversight Team in designing and implementing a high-quality Clinical Student Program + Maintain and enhance Clinical Student Program database + Report key program metrics to stakeholders + Continuously enhance program quality and effectiveness + Enhance connections with the National Chief Nursing Office and Clinician Experience Team **Tailor Programs for Clinical Needs:** + Partner with physician leads to create programs tailored to the specific needs of Primary Care, Specialty Care, and Walk-In Clinics + Ensure that the programs address the unique challenges and requirements of each clinical area + Ensure programs are appropriately focused for individual clinical student types: Medical students (years 1-4), PA, NP, DNP, resident students + Report on any improvements in access and other benefits to our patients and organization **Preceptors:** + Track clinicians interested in precepting and match students with appropriate preceptors + Create and implement a system for preceptor evaluation and ensure timely evaluations are performed + Coordinate with Finance to ensure WSU preceptors are paid timely + Develop marketing materials for preceptors and collaborate with Associate Medical Directors (AMDs) to attract clinicians to precept students **Universities:** + Ensure affiliation agreements with universities are established. If not, initiate the agreements with guidance from our legal team and ensure all terms are fulfilled + Maintain and strengthen relationships with academic institutions and their coordinators + Work with universities to promote our program and identify opportunities for improvement, ensuring consistency and standardization of processes **Students:** + Assist the Oversight Team in developing a selection process to identify students who demonstrate academic excellence and align with our organizational culture. Give priority to current employees pursuing advanced clinician degrees and students residing in our market + Ensure all student documentation is completed and that clinic Practice Managers are prepared to request Epic access and clinic access badges, if appropriate + Oversee student onboarding and offboarding processes + Connect students to the Office of Clinician Experience programs and events + Coordinate with Talent Acquisition on clinical student events and pre-recruiting efforts **Real-time Assessment:** + Coordinate preceptor evaluations of students' performance during their rotations to identify potential hires + Provide feedback and support to students to enhance their learning experience + Survey students regarding clinical rotation experience to continually improve experience and future retention **Support recruitment of top-performing students and enhance their retention rates post-hire:** + Connect top-performing students, based on their preceptors’ evaluations, with our Talent Acquisition team + Work closely with Talent Acquisition to streamline the hiring process + Connect students with resources to support their early career development + Survey new-hire students to improve the clinical rotation experience + Track the number of students from our program who are hired and monitor their retention to ensure it exceeds two years **Continuous Program Improvement:** + Implement continuous improvement initiatives within the program management function + Foster innovation and enhance program efficiency by implementing best practices and adhering to industry standards You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor's degree in a related field + Proven experience in program management, preferably in a clinical or educational setting + Robust understanding of residency and clinical student training programs and clinician recruitment process + Proven leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with internal and external teams + Proven ability to prioritize, coordinate and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment + Proven outstanding analytical and quantitative skills including working knowledge of Smartsheet, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Suite + Must reside within Washington or Oregon state **Specification:** + Bachelor's degree in related field (Program Management) + Remote work assignment with onsite presence as determined by the business needs (hybrid with 80% remote & 20% onsite) *All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
