Responsibilities:

Supervises nursing tasks and patient care to ensure that patients are receiving the appropriate care as per their plan of care and to ensure staff competency. As well as monitor routinely the documentation of patient care in the medical record.Set standard for the accurate reporting and recording of any symptom, reaction and progress of the patients served.Evaluate patient care through assessment, planning, intervention, written documentation, observation and comparison to establish medical standards; round to monitor patients for signs of acute illness, complications and exacerbation of chronic conditions.Promote open communication with the interdisciplinary team to support regulatory compliance and supportive patient care.Participate in clinical, staff and family meetings to provide medical and nursing information for the continuity of care.Collaborate with HR regarding the selection of staff for the patient care unit.Provide for the professional growth and development of the nursing team through identification of needs, encouraging education, (formal and continuing) efforts and the evaluation of the same.Provide input and standards in formulating patient care policies and procedures and work with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.Participate in quality assessment and improvement, including the utilization and promotion of familiarization with quality improvement standards and programs. Review quality improvement and report and integrate appropriate actions into the Quality Improvement Program.Collaborate with ancillary support services to provide a clean, safe and secure environment for patients, staff and visitors.Provide assistance in the orientation to and practice of emergency procedure, fire drills, evacuation procedure and internal/external disaster plans and procedures.Display a compassionate manner and exhibits concern for the disenfranchised; Develop innovative approaches for the enhancement of the units.Maintain close communication with admissions departments at ArchCare facilities regarding bed availability. Act as the single point of decision making for admissions with collaboration as needed.Monitor, analyze, and report monthly on LOS, avoidable vs. unavoidable hospitalization days, and Admissions/Readmission, Discharges, and transfer of all ArchCare patients to Mount Sinai Hospital. Qualifications

Qualifications: 

Current NYS Registered Nurse License 

Education: 

Bachelor's DegreeBSN  Salary
