CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST

SITE OF SERVICE:

·       17th Medical Group, Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, TX         

 

POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:

·       Degree: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).

·       Education: Graduate from an American Psychology Association accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology.

·       Internship/Residency: Successful completion from an internship in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association.

·       Experience: Have a minimum of one year experience as a licensed clinical psychologist.

·       Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico or US Virgin Islands.

·       Certifications: HCWs shall maintain a current hands-on certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers in accordance with American Heart Association.

·       English Language Requirement: The Contractor shall ensure that all HCWs providing services under this contract are able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate.

·       HCW Physical Capability: HCWs shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required per job description.

·       U.S. Citizenship: HCWs performing under this contract shall be U.S. citizens.

 

CORE DUTIES: 

·       Practice within the guidelines of their state licensing board, American Psychological Association Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct, and MTF privileges.

·       Conduct psychological evaluations utilizing information from clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources, as appropriate.

·       Establish psychiatric diagnoses according to the American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Disorders.

·       Provide psychological treatment for individuals and groups; help medical and surgical patients deal with illnesses or injuries.

·       Assist in rehabilitation of patients.

 

HOURS:

 

·       Potential to the following schedule: 0700-1600 with a 1-hour non-working lunch, Monday-Friday.  The performance hours of the 17 MDG are as follows: Normal Duty hours from Monday- Friday 0730-1630.

·       Notification at least 2 weeks in advance prior to any schedule changes.

 

BASE DOWN DAYS:

·       During a planned closure of the facility due to training, closures before or after holidays family down days, Employee will only be compensated for the actual hours worked. If clinic is closed and employee is not able to work, employee will be required to use leave or take LWOP (without penalty). 

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Team work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
