**Overview**
**Clinical Psychologist, Joint Base Lewis McChord, Tacoma, WA**
Madigan Army Medical Center is seeking Clinical Psychologists for the Embedded Behavioral Health Clinics on Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM). This clinic model is an early intervention and treatment structure of Behavioral Health that promotes Soldier readiness. It provides multidisciplinary Behavioral Health care to Soldier in close proximity to their unit's work area and in close coordination with unit leaders. Duties include conducting psychological assessments of active duty service members with a wide variety of psychological disorders that affect intellectual, cognitive, behavioral or emotional function, providing individual and group therapy, psychoeducational sessions, and psychotherapeutic interventions.

Located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest on the Puget Sound, in Washington State, JBLM is near the city of Lakewood, 10 minutes from Tacoma and 20 minutes from Olympia, the state capitol. **Responsibilities**
+ Screen and interview patients, and perform psychological and bio-psychosocial evaluations, using expert knowledge of general and specific concepts, principles, procedures, and practices relating to clinical psychology.
+ Provide timely and succinct feedback to PCMs regarding consultations findings and recommendations.
+ Use objective and measurable outcomes to evaluate treatment effectiveness and make adjustments if appropriate for increased compliance and efficacy.
+ Develop, teach, and provide oversight for classes that promote education and skill-building to enhance psychological and physical health, and promote behavioral change related to improved health status.

**Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist:**
**Degree:** Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. ( **Note:** You must submit a copy of your transcript )
**In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:**
**Specialized Experience** : One year of specialized experience which includes performing psychological evaluations, developing behavioral health treatment plans, and providing psychological counseling services. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
**Selective Placement Factor:** This position requires a current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction. ( **Note** : You must submit a copy of your license.)
**Education**
**FOREIGN EDUCATION:** If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
