Clinical Registered Dietician - Oncology
Job Descriptions: New England Cancer Specialists (NECS) is seeking a full-time 40 hr./ 5-day Oncology- Registered Dietician to provide professional services to NECS patients and families in our WestbrookRock Row and Topsham Clinics. The Clinical Dietitian (CD) is the medical nutrition expert responsible for coordinating all phases of nutrition care including assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring and evaluation of patients. The Clinical Dietitian provides medical nutrition therapy services to patients in the outpatient setting. The CD educates patients and families both as individuals and in groups. The role requires clinical expertise, critical thinking, collaborative practice, excellent communication skills, ability to serve as a change agent, and an understanding of the principles and practices of clinical care. This role requires travel to all NECS locations on a regular basis. NECS is a private medical practice composed of 18 oncologists and hematologists serving the region from 4 different locations in Maine and New Hampshire. Job Duties: + Provide 1:1 Medical Nutrition Therapy to patients undergoing cancer treatment and to those who have completed treatment. + Assist in creating and running group nutrition and wellness programs for cancer survivorship. Travel: Minimal, Required Experience: + Maine & New Hampshire nutrition licenses or the ability to obtain. + Current RD credential required, CSO preferred. + At least 2 years of oncology experience + Comfortable with public speaking and delivering webinars and presentations. + Skilled in creating patient education materials. + Proficient in technology + Proven knowledge of Oncology practice strategies + Proven organizational, communication and people skills. + Initiative-taking in identifying issues and recommend solutions. Ability to manage multiple priorities. + High ethical standards. Intense desire to succeed. Ability to make tough decisions. Change agent. + Knowledge of the nature of diseases, their treatments both curative and palliative, and the side effects of related therapies. + Knowledge of area agencies and willingness to collaborate with these agencies, initiating referrals when applicable.
