Job Summary
Working very independently and under general supervision from the Principal Investigator (PI), provides support to clinical research studies. This position primarily will provide support to Dr. Yoon Chun in a study evaluating plastic surgery reconstruction for patients with breast cancer. Staff member will be responsible for providing functional administrative oversight for most aspects of the research study, in collaboration with PI, main study site, and hospital research staff.This position requires a high degree of independence and strong critical thinking abilities to ensure strict compliance with all research protocols.
Qualifications
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shepherds enrolled patients through the various study-related encounters, including coordinating study visits and other necessary tasks. Administers questionnaires. Maintains subjects’ records and research study regulatory documentation. Develops, organizes, and/or maintains the study database. Responsible for data validation and quality control. May include chart review and/or prospective data collection. Performs research billing activities. Assists with compliance and with the MGB IRB and other federal and institutional guidelines. Maintains close contact with study coordinator at main site, IRB, and BWH research administration. In conjunction with Principal Investigator, develops and implements new research protocols including design, data collection systems and institutional review board approval. Performs literature searches, as appropriate. Assists PI with preparation for presentation and written published articles. All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree required.At least 1 year of experience working in a research setting. In lieu of work experience, extensive experience in research during schooling will be considered.Sound independent judgement and competence in research methodologiesExperience with Microsoft Office suite, REDCap, and basic computer literacy skillsSKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
