The Department of Diagnostic Medicine at the Dell Medical School is looking for a Clinical Research Associate II.

Three-year fixed term with possibility of continuation based on performance and available grant funding.   

Purpose

The Department of Diagnostic Medicine is recruiting a Clinical Research Associate II to support human research activities investigating maternal and fetal health. This position will involve a mix of patient-facing time as well as analysis of clinical data. This position also involves research and administrative tasks working with the Primary Investigator and his team to support the compliance, financial, personnel and other related aspects of the clinical studies.  

Responsibilities

Recruit and enroll research study subjects:

Recruit eligible study participants from health clinics.

Schedule participant study visits.

Complete screening, informed consent, and subject reimbursement procedures.

Assist with performance of magnetic resonance imaging examinations.

Assist with laboratory sample collection and storage.

Develop study protocols and procedure manuals.

Monitor recruitment and adherence to procedures/protocols.

Assist in specialized clerical and technical duties connected with human subject research, which may include:  

Coordinate meetings and create agendas.

Develop study protocols and procedure manuals.

Prepare institutional review board (IRB) submissions.

Ensure completion of contract requirements and project specifications. 

Manage assigned projects with an emphasis on coordination and communication with research sponsors, investigators and research team:  

Actively participate in data collection, data entry, data organization, and reporting.

Perform data visualization and analysis.

Assist in training project staff and research assistants.

Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. biology, social science, nursing) and 2 years of relevant experience or master’s degree in a relevant field. Conversational Spanish speaker. A successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrate the ability to work in a collaborative environment; possess effective project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize and schedule work in an efficient and productive manner, focusing on key priorities and meeting deadlines; possess great attention to detail and effective follow-through; have initiative to complete tasks before being asked and be able to independently manage studies; know when to ask for help; be flexible and adaptable to change. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in a related biomedical or social science field with at least 3 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in data visualization and standard statistical and quantitative data analysis. Experience with computer programming using Python, MATLAB, and/or R Studio. Previous experience with research subject recruitment and data management in clinical health research.  

Salary Range

$46,000+ depending on qualifications
