Job Description
This position involves working with leading oncology physicians on the lymphoma research team. The role requires collaboration with physicians, clinical research study teams, and the oncology clinic team. Duties include both data coordinating and clinical coordinating, with an initial focus split between the two before transitioning to full clinical coordinating. The coordinator will work directly with patients in the clinic and in the research office.
ResponsibilitiesScreen and enroll patients into research studies.Read and understand study protocols.Report significant adverse events (SAEs).Check lab values and assess drug dosages and modifications.Ship samples to labs and prepare laboratory kits.Find and enter data into the research system.Assist with both existing and new trials.Essential SkillsExperience in clinical research is strongly preferred (1-2 years).Strong organizational and planning skills.Customer service orientation.Proficiency in Excel and Outlook.Knowledge of oncology and clinical trials.Ability to prioritize and comply with regulations.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree and clinical research fast track certification are beneficial.Experience in related fields such as medical assisting, respiratory therapy, or athletic training is considered.Go-getter attitude and high organizational skills.Ability to handle high-stress and fast-paced workloads.Positive personality and team player.Flexibility to shift priorities quickly and ask for help when needed.Work Environment
The medical oncology research team consists of about 200 people, primarily working out of an office on a medical school campus. The role involves traveling between the research office, oncology clinic, and labs, which may require walking up to 15 minutes at a time. In the clinic, adherence to all COVID-19 safety protocols is mandatory.
