The UW Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC) has an outstanding opportunity for a **Clinical Research Coordinator** to serve as Clinical Core Lead Research Coordinator. The purpose of this position is to assist the ADRC Clinical Core Principal Investigators and clinicians in managing complex administrative activities of Clinical Core, support collaborative efforts between Clinical Core and other UW ADRC Cores, mentor Clinical Core research coordinators in daily work, and engage in coordination for Clinical Core and Clinical Trials studies. This position requires the ability to integrate information from multiple sources. This individual will follow all established procedures to ensure that all research activities meets or exceeds requirements while furthering the research objectives of the ADRC. This position will interact with a variety of populations, including faculty investigators, Center staff, clinical research subjects with varying levels of cognitive ability, family members of clinical research subjects, and associated external organizations. The position will require the use of independent judgement, problem solving skills, project and time management, and delegated authority to ensure that each of the research projects remain on deadline for successful execution of benchmarked deliverables. There are many resources available within the University system (e.g. Grant and Contract Services, Institutional Review Board, Office of Industry Relations, Institute of Translational Health Sciences clinical research support) to help in this process, but ultimately, the work must be done independently and in a resourceful manner to expedite the research objectives. The position will support the on-going research being done at the UW Medicine Memory and Brain Wellness Center (MBWC) and ADRC. These Centers house multidisciplinary teams of clinical specialists who care for patients with neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's disease and other diseases that affect cognitive ability. Researchers work to advance scientific discoveries of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders. The Clinical Core Lead Research Coordinator will assist the Clinical Core Principal Investigators and clinicians in managing complex administrative activities of Clinical Core, including mentoring Clinical Core research coordinators, streamlining Clinical Core operations, and fostering effective integrated efforts between Cores. The Clinical Core Lead Research Coordinator will also engage in Clinical Core and Clinical Trials study coordination. **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** **Clinical Core Research Coordinators Mentorship** + Together with Clinical Core clinician, oversee Clinical Core research coordinators’ training in study consenting, neuropsychometric testing, study data collection, proper study documentation, and adherence to study protocol. + Oversee research coordinators’ training in study administrative tasks, data entry, and database maintenance. + Together with Clinical Core clinician, engage in regular check-ins with research coordinators and regular checks of research coordinators’ documentation to support their growth and learning. **Administrative Support and Development** + Support Clinical Core clinician in the completion of administrative tasks such as schedule development, administrative tasks workflow, and delegating responsibilities to relevant Clinical Core team members. + Together with Clinical Core clinician, create and maintain study-specific Standard Operating Procedures documentation. **Clinical Core Lab Management and Sample Handling** + Serve as the lab manager, overseeing the proper connection between Clinical Core and Neuropathology Core for sample storage and long-term preservation. Responsible for overseeing lab training of Clinical Core research coordinators. **Engage in Clinical Core Research Activities** + Together with Clinical Core research coordinators, participate in scheduling study appointments, engaging in study participant recruitment and enrollment, administering neuropsychiatric assessments and research interviews, completing study related forms, and assisting in biospecimen collection and processing. **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS** + Bachelor's degree in Science or Humanities. + 2 to 3 years minimum work experience **Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.** **ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS** + Experience working on research projects. + Independent and self-motivated. + Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. + Ability to work as a collaborative, cooperative, and congenial member of a close knit scholarly and administrative team, as well as work independently. + Experience with REDCAP data management system. + Knowledge and prior experience working with geriatric or cognitively/neurologically impaired populations. **DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS** + Experience with American Indian, Alaskan Native, and Latin O/A/X communities. + Experience performing and scoring neuropsychometric tests. + Fluent in Spanish. + Familiarity with brain MRI acquisition. + Experience with IRB administration. **Application Process:** The application process may include completion of a variety of online assessments to obtain additional information that will be used in the evaluation process.
