Job Summary
The Depression Clinical and Research Program (DCRP) is a division of the Outpatient Psychiatry Department at Massachusetts General Hospital conducting leading-edge research in the area of depression, with a focus on testing novel antidepressant treatments and developing new tools to understand the biological changes that occur in this condition. The clinical program delivers care outside of the research setting to people with depressive disorders. The program provides patient evaluations and follow-up care, as well as one-time consultations and second opinions.The Clinical Research Coordinator II will be responsible for all aspects of operations on active clinical trials (phone screenings, eligibility determination, consent documentation, data collection and storage, and communication with subjects/participants) and assisting with research fund management, grant preparation, and the hiring and training of research personnel. In addition, the Clinical Research Coordinator II will be in charge of processing accounts payable, managing supply ordering for research supplies, and will work on other administrative tasks as needed. The Clinical Research Coordinator II will also serve as the secondary clinical trials and other research resource (e.g. regulatory, ethical and IRB, Case Report Form (CRF) development, writing operations manuals, trial operationalization, providing training) for all project staff, including interns, technical team (programmers), and students.
Additional duties:
The Clinical Research Coordinator II will, at times and as needed, work autonomously on assigned research projects. This portion of the role will involve screening research patients for study eligibility, data entry and analysis, manuscript preparation, and clinical laboratory work such as phlebotomy and EKG administration.
The specific role also involves developing and establishing community engaged relationships across Massachusetts. Managing and assist in a Community Advisory Board and community ambassador program.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The Clinical Research Coordinator II is expected to:
Assist with all aspects of conducting operations (data collection, storage, and participant recruitment) on clinical trials and studies within the research program.Assist with hiring of all research personnel, including interns and students.Process accounts payable including check requests, site payments, invoices and internal transfers.Assist with the management of Consultant Agreements & Payments.Manage supply ordering for research and clinical practice.Assist in grant preparation to external funding agencies as well as grants management tasks, including but not limited to formatting documents, gathering bio sketches, Other Support Pages, and all other documents related to grants submission.Assist with financial aspects of research projects.Monitor clinical research folders and binders in accordance with IRB and HIPAA guidelines.Manage and oversee the submission of all IRB correspondence & submissions, including initial & continuing reviews, amendments and adverse events. Assist research coordinators when required.Facilitate communications between coordinators, technical team and other MGH departments involved in research.Direct coordinators, students, and interns in the right direction for troubleshooting, contact information, and support.Provide guidance to coordinators, technical team (programmers), students and interns in working with sponsors and other entities involved in the research process. Maintain documentation that may be required to meet local or federal regulations.Assist coordinators in preparing data for DSMB and/or other sponsor/federal reports.Monitor and maintain study equipment, supplies, and materials.Research and facilitate the implementation of more efficient means to carry out projects.Develop infrastructure, procedures, and tracking systems for project management.Manage and update DCRP email list.Manage and update the DCRP’s Shared File Access (SFA) and internal drive.Oversee junior RA staff in maintaining the DCRP web page (personnel list, study list, etc.)Maintain spreadsheet of office usage and coordinate any rearrangements of office space.Oversee and manage the DCRP research and meeting schedule, including coordinating with visiting speakers and guests.Coordinate travel reimbursements.Participate when appropriate in career development provided by MGH.Assist with community advisory board and community ambassador outreach and management.Community outreach coordination and attendance of community outreach events to foster community based participatory research goals. Design and presentation of research program activities and clinical trial study information at community outreach events.Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required:
