Position Purpose: responsible for the conduct of multiple clinical research activities. Responsible for providing budgeting and financial support for the Clinical Research Program and clinical research studies, ensuring appropriate and accurate billing of patient services for study care. Responsible for developing, refining and maintaining tools to accomplish these tasks to facilitate the budgeting and billing process.
Works with research leadership to ensure the proper financial management of clinical research at Holy Cross Health.Works with research leadership to manage overall finances by designating budgets and deciding on service fees that maximize facility revenue. Prepare regular reports summarizing financial statuses as requested. Works with the study teams to thoroughly review research protocols for financial feasibility, Medicare coverage analysis, budget development and negotiation.Maintains and updates Research billing chargemasterWorks with research leadership to assess departmental budget requirements.Works with research leadership to reconcile clinical trial agreement terms with negotiated budget.Enters and tracks clinical trial budget information in applicable databases.Works with research leadership to facilitate the implementation of study management software.Analyzes and presents financial status and statistical data as requested by research leadership.Communicates in writing and verbally with investigators, study coordinators, department administrators, sponsors and others within the clinical research infrastructure about clinical research finance services.Works with research leadership to ensure research billing compliance for all items or services identified as part of a clinical trial as dictated by local and national Medicare regulations prior to study start up.Education:
Prefer Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field preferred. Three to five years related research, coding or medical billing experience. Experience may be substituted for education.Experience & Skills:
Needs to demonstrate consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.Requires good communication skills including the ability to communicate clinical research budgeting and billing concepts to non-accounting staff, speak in front of small to medium groups, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion
