Job Description

The Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) supports the clinical departments conducting research. The CRN is primarily responsible for leading patient visits and serving as a bridge between the clinical staff, Principal Investigator, and the research data and administration. Responsibilities involve research patient care, research clinical services, data collection, data submission, adverse event identification and reporting, patient follow-up, records management, protocol regulatory management, quality assurance, and other activities related to research and clinical care. The CRN will work closely with the team to complete all research-required services and assist the Research Analyst in facilitating proper research patient registration and accurate documentation.

ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and perform clinical procedures during research visits, including vital signs, blood draws, EKGs, drug administration, and other clinical activities as necessary and capable.Assist clinical staff responsible for research patient visits in completing research requirements.Review and verify subject eligibility based on study inclusion/exclusion criteria.Identify, recruit, and screen potential clinical study participants.Obtain informed consent from patients in coordination with the Investigator.Lead the clinical research team in identifying, evaluating, and reporting all adverse events and severe adverse events.Support the team in obtaining and disseminating accurate clinical information essential for completing Case Report Forms (CRF).Synthesize clinical knowledge with protocol requirements to foster informed, protocol-compliant decision-making in the best interest of patient safety and in coordination with the investigator. Modify treatments as per protocol.Ensure adherence to all federal, state, local, and hospital laws and regulations related to the protection of human subjects and research compliance.Provide backup coverage for other CRN studies when necessary, which may require travel to other sites.Facilitate industry-sponsored pre-study/initiation visits and provide sponsors with required site information.Secure patient records and source documentation for sponsor monitoring and internal/external site audits.Obtain and maintain database access, and enter data as needed.Practice proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures, and immediately report any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or incidents involving employees, patients, or visitors.Essential SkillsGraduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor or Associate degree.Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia.One (1) year of relevant work experience in a clinical setting.Current and valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider (CPR & AED Program card).Minimum of one year of nursing experience in cardiology research, clinical lab, or EP Lab setting.Good Clinical Practice (GCP) knowledge.Patient recruitment experience.Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in facilitating industry-sponsored pre-study/initiation visits.Experience in securing patient records and source documentation for sponsor monitoring and audits.Experience in entering and maintaining data in research databases.Schedule

The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and it is fully onsite. The work environment focuses on cardiology research.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $87000.00 - $97000.00/yr.
