Summary

Focuses on developing education and training in clinical and translational research for trainees in graduate medical education (GME) and clinical staff at Sanford and associated local universities.

Job Description

Assist in The Professional Development Core (PDC) for TRANSCEND. Specific duties will include developing and overseeing a didactic training program in Clinical and Translational Research. Assist in developing a team of mentors for individuals pursuing funding through TRANSCEND. Contribute to the development of a training program for research mentoring to begin sometime in the second year of TRANSCEND.
Develop a curriculum on "Introduction to Clinical Research" for medical residents and fellows in any specialty, ideally in modular format, suitable for delivery in person or online. Collaborate with GME program leaders on implementation of the "Introduction to Clinical Research" curriculum. Serve as a mentor for GME faculty physicians who are interested in conducting clinical research and/or mentoring medical residents/fellows in clinical research.

Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

Medical school graduate. Must have completed an American Medical Association (AMA) residency and be certified, or eligible for certification, by the appropriate American Board of Specialties.

Experience in the clinical practice of medicine.

Current licensure in the state of practice. Experience in conducting, teaching, and mentoring in clinical research.
