Job Description
The Medical Director determines donor eligibility based on applicable standards, regulations, and established policies. The role involves conducting reviews of medical records, gathering additional donor screening information, and determining final donor eligibility. Additionally, the Medical Director advises, trains, and provides feedback to Tissue Services staff on medical conditions necessary for the proper execution of their duties, reviews and approves policies/questions requiring medical input, and stays current with medical issues and education related to donor eligibility criteria through outside symposia, medical literature, and professional medical forums.
ResponsibilitiesConduct reviews of medical records and gather additional donor screening information as needed to determine final donor eligibility.Advise, train, and provide feedback to Tissue Services staff on medical conditions necessary for their duties.Review and approve policies and questions requiring medical input when needed.Stay current with medical issues and education related to donor eligibility criteria using outside symposia, medical literature, and professional medical forums.Conduct training of QA, RA, and Tissue Services staff on medical issues related to donor eligibility evaluations.Comprehend donor charts and make medical judgments and determinations with a high degree of accuracy.Assess the adequacy of medical file information and gather additional data if required.Establish and maintain donor eligibility criteria and policies consistent with standards and regulations.Act as a liaison between the Tissue Services Team and the Tissue Recovery Partners.Serve as a medical subject matter expert during process and procedure improvements.Perform risk assessments on human tissue complaints or other quality records.Serve as a team member and approver in the development of Health Hazard Evaluations (HHEs).Review product complaints as applicable.Ensure that established goals and objectives are met.Essential SkillsMD or DOActive Physician License in NJ7-10+ years of patient care, primary care, or ER experienceAbility to comprehend donor charts and make accurate medical judgmentsAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with FDA regulationsExperience with pharmaceutical and medical devicesKnowledge of GCP and GxPWork Environment
This is an on-site, part-time position based in Branchburg.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $175.00 - $180.00/hr.
